ABOUT BOSS MORRIS
In the back of a bar in Stroud, Gloucestershire a group of women gather, accompanied by the sound of bells jingling and laughter. Slowly they work together, conjuring new faces and personae out of face paint, fake flowers and pom poms. Then they dance.
It is estimated that in 2018 the number of female morris dancers will surpass the number of male morris dancers for the first time in history. Boss Morris are one of these groups of women lovingly disrupting and claiming this male space, opening up a tradition with a long history to a new generation.
Theirs is a story of rebellion, camaraderie, creativity, connection, fitness and friendship.
